Default Corroded battery cable

My 94 wouldn't start because the positive battery cable was corroded. I think the battery leaks near where the cable attaches. How hard is this cable to change? Anyone ever change a positive battery cable? Can it be done at home? I appreciate your help.

Since I don't have a 94, I cannot comment on the complexity of changing it. But all you need to do is follow the cable from one side to the other. When replacing it, ensure you also temporarily remove the other cable. This should prevent any electronics from being sparked or you from getting zapped.

Two comments: First if yourv 94 is like my 85 the positive cable runs behind the engine and is held in several places by clamps. I wager it would be a major pain to change. Second, can you clean the terminal and continue to use it? There are several good cleaners out there. If the cable end is beyond cleaning, that is eaten up, it may be possible to replace just the terminal. You could do a bolt-on, not pretty but they work as a temporary fix. A decent electrical shop can replace the terminal with a solder on.
