I have a '94 that I slid into a curb, breaking the right rear wheel. It's a long story, so I'll spare you the details.
Anyway, according to everything I can find here, that year takes 8.5" on the front, and 9.5" on the rear. I found one at a local salvage yard, and they guy put a tape measure to it. From inside bead to inside bead, it measured 8.5". From outside rim lip to outside rim lip measured 9.5". They guy insisted that the correct way to measure it is from lip to lip, and not bead to bead. I don't know enough to correct him (if he's wrong), so I bought it.
After putting a new tire on it and mounting it, I have two problems. First, the tire, mounted on the rim, has a different shape sidewall than the original rim/tire. It sticks out further from the rim than the other one does. Secondly, it's rubbing the inside wheel well body work. I haven't taken the two rears off and measured offset yet, but I'm thinking I got the wrong rim on this car.
Anyone had any experience with how to measure rim widths? Also, does anyone know what the offset should be on this wheel, or where I might be able to find the info besides Chevy's own engineering drawings?
Thanks!
Wendell

Wheel width is measured inside the beads and are usually 1/2 inch. So measured lip to lip would add 1" . This info can be found on Tomzwheels link in the sponsers list, look under misc. Offset should be +56mm for 9.5 rear, and are left right specific for stock wheels. Hope this helps!

Tire fits inside the lips. This is the area to measure. I've never heard of a 10.5" rim from the General (that's what the BoneHead.. er, Bone Yard guy is telling you) But there may be a 10.5" rim.
Just my opinion.

I agree with the guys above.
Wheels are measured inside to inside; you got a front wheel....and one with a different offset, too, it sounds like.
