Default Different dynos = different results

I had my '93 dynoed at one local place 2 weeks ago and the results were 311.2 rwhp and 314.2 rwtq. I felt these numbers to be low, so I took it to the place where I had originally done my baseline (280 rwhp with headers and exhaust only). My results today were 322.08 rwhp and 325.07 rwtq. Conditions were similar except that today it was about 10* cooler. What do you experts think?

Was it the same "type" of dyno at each place? Meaning... both were dynojets (or Mustang dynos.......or dynapaks)

And - what are your mods??

Both were dynojets. Mods are Hotcam, ported Lt1 heads and intake, 1.6 rr, 52mm tb, HD timing chain and updated Opti, new Ford injectors, EM longtubes, RT cats, and 3" B&B catback and chip. Other old parts were replaced (O2 and other sensors, plugs, etc.). 3.54 gears and 2500 stall converter.

I have trouble getting consistent readings in dry vs. humid air as opposed to a cooler day vs. hotter day. My feeling is the Dyno software corrects from raw numbers to SAE better for temperature differences than for humidity differences.

My last time out at a group dyno my raw numbers were stronger than the raw numbers from a previous run, but the corrected SAE number was down. The day was warmer the second time, but drier air. I don't trust the inputs of the weather station they have, or the correction algorithms.

The setup of the dyno software can also affect the corrected numbers you get, either innocently or deliberately. For instance if the shop is actually at 1500 feet the operator can say it is located at 3500 feet and give you more pleasing corrected numbers. I've been told that some dyno tuners actually alter this setting during a tuning session to exaggerate the improvement they have made by tuning. I've just been shown the setup and have no names and make no accusations. It is possible though, and the parameters involved don't show up on your results printout.

Lots of variables to think about when you put it on a dyno, some of which are not properly corrected for.

Air temp, humidity, whether or not they put a fan in front of the car, mustang/dynojet, etc
