The Brevard County Sheriff's Office wants to find the owner of the sports car found abandoned in the northern part of the county last week, according to Local 6 News partner Florida Today.
A deputy recovered the abandoned 1958 or 1959 Corvette on Feb. 15 in the area of Interstate 95 and State Road 5A in Scottsmoor, said sheriff's spokesman Andrew Walters.
The sheriff's auto theft agents are requesting assistance from the public in identifying the vehicle’s owner, according to the report.
"Due to the vehicle’s unique characteristics, sheriff’s agents have not been able to identify the vehicle’s registered owner," Walters said in a statement.
According to prices listed on the Internet, a 1958-59 Corvette could sell for $150,000 in mint condition.
Anyone with information related to this case may call Agent Mike Wallace at (321) 454-7007.
I suspect the owner had his vintage collectable in a safe warehouse/garage.
And unbeknownst to him, the Corvette was stolen. The thieves, for some reason, dropped it off at that site.
