Really? My 1987 VW Scirocco has them....and they work. They come on with the rear window defroster.
I don't get to use them much, though.

You're right.

My 90 vert has it because, I presume, they didn't want people scraping ice off the plastic window. I'm not sure if it was included in the electronic air or what.

I'll check my build sheet and sticker when I get home.

Yep, they are a "standard feature" on 90's...

I have them on my 87 Vert and on my 1991 Lincoln Town Car. I know the TC has them because it says so on the mirrors, and hwen I warm it up on a really cold day, it melts the ice and snow right off of the mirrors.

Heck, my Triumph, from 1973 had rear defrost on the hatchback, although the mirror is not heated.

Got them on mine too, although like others, I have no idea if they work or not. Usually sits in the garage overnight.

Go figure my 93 has them and my Grand Cherokee 4x4 doesn't. My vette has heated mirrors and the 4x4 doesn't. The Jeep has power seats and I gotta have 1 of 1000 93's without power seats. Goofy option packages.
