B&M is a simple, easy to install kit that locks the accumulators and has solid shifts. Transgo is the kit of choice. It is more expensive and quite complicated to install. Mods to the trans case, valve body and servo are required. You must also purchase additional parts if they are not already in your trans.

Pete, does the transmission have to come out for the transgo kit.
If so can you just install the parts that can be installed with the transmission in the car and leave the rest out for a later date?
I have a B&M kit. Do not like it. I find the 1-2 shift too harsh, The 2-3 shift is crisp and the 3-4 shift just right. If I was still into racing it would be great but as a daily driver I wish I had left it as it was.

I installed a TransGo in my '93 Z28, most of the install was pretty straightforward, and it came with an install video.
However, the video was on a truck install, and in the Z, there was not enough clearance to remove the servo and replace with the one in the kit, with the trans in the car.

You can cheat the B&M kit. If it is already installed and the 1/2 shift is too harsh, you can swap in a soft accumulator spring and inprove it a bit. Only dropping the pan is requires to get at the 1/2 accumulator housing. 3-4 2-3 and 3-4 will remain the same. $10 and a sunday afternoon could improve it a bunch.
