Default CD Player Troubleshooting

I took the Bose radio out and installed a Pioneer CD player, but I cant hear anything. The radio will power up and works fine, but theres no sound. I have checked the wires several times and they're all correct. I used a standard GM wiring harness for 80's GM vehicles. I've talked to several people, but nobody has a clue. I figured i'd ask here cause somebody may have had the same problem. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Bose speakers include amplifiers inside them. Have you checked, that amp relay turns on with player? Relay is located somewhere behind the radio. It is connected to radio antenna output. Listen, if you can hear a quiet "click" when you turn on the radio. Also you can measure voltage from speaker connectors. There is four wires, two brings power to amplifier and another pair is for signal.

I'm not sure what kind wiring harness you have, but i doubt that you can connect pioneer's speaker output directly to bose speaker, because it uses low-level input.

i suggest you to take bose speakers out, and install 6x9 speakers to rear and 6.5 to front (older c4). Newer version has smaller front speaker holes, i have heard that 4" speakers may fit.

If you have older c4, i can post you wiring diagram.

Thanks for the info, I have the wiring diagram. Looks like i'll have to get get a set of speakers. I found some nice 6x9 Pioneers but they're not cheap. Gotta have my tunes though. Thanks again for the info.
