Default Visor repair help

I thought someone submitted a tech tip on visor repair with a coat hanger... I looked at tech tips and did a thread search but could not find it. Does anyone remember who posted this?

you can basically stuff anything in there using these same instructions. i cut a few peices off the bottom of some window blinds and stuffed it in there and it looks as good as new.

Sorry about the coat hanger part. I guess that is how rumors get started...

Anyway, I had an old plastic bin that came out of an ice chest. I trimmed 2 of the sides so they would slide in behind the mirrors. Once you push them all the way to the end, it stiffens up the floppy part. Took less than 10 minutes start to finish...

LonghornC4's email to me explained that any piece of plastic would work. A ruler, a piece of mini blinds, etc. The piece needs to have these dimensions: 12"x1.75"x1/16"

Bless You! Although I never really minded sending out the instructions to everyone. A few other things to know (from my canned response letter):

"The inserts look like a piece of plastic Venetian blind with dimensions of 12"x1.75"x 1/16". If it's much longer it will protrude out from under the mirror which you're inserting it under. Also the piece is slightly concave across its width which faces down with respect to the top of the visor. A couple guys have had success just using those cheapo plastic rulers. Good luck.."

No problem. The thank you's should go in tobijohn's direction. He originally emailed it to me I just hosted it on a site. Tomorrow I should have some free time and I think I'm going to attempt to make a new pdf with clearer color pictures. I'll post it if all goes well.
