I just bought my 94 with 68k miles on it and had all fluids changed just for piece of mind.
If you have all the records, then following the owners manual is ok. If not, assume it wasn't done.

Thanks for the info , but it was just a general question . I have owned the car since new in 96 , and I flush it every year . Was just wondering if it was just over kill. I have 54,ooo miles on it .

Either go with the manufacturer's (GM) or the coolant's reccomendation.
Usually every 2 years.

If the system hasn't already been neglected, bi-annually should be plenty good enough. Otherwise (or if you're really retentive), hit it annually.
Be well,

Also, always check for voltage in your cooling system when it is hot and has been run for a bit.
For some reason, it seems that we have been having a high incidence rate for electrolysis here at our shop, we are now adding ground straps to every radiator and heater core we do.
Use only distilled water, the coolant of your choice, and we also use a "Motorcraft diesel cooling system additive" of all things.
Any thing over .3 volts in your cooling system is going to cause trouble.

About every two years or so.
And how do you measure voltage in coolant?!!!
(and don't say "with a voltmeter", either
Be specific.)

Sorry, i guess i was not very specific on that, was I.
I use a digital volt meter with the black lead to the battery negative and the red lead into the coolant at the radiator cap opening.
It does seem to change (voltage go up) after it is hot and has been driven.
