Default C4 Seats

Did the seats in the later production C4's change any when it got closer to the C5 changeover?

I don't believe there were any seat changes in the last 3-4 years of C4 production....that's if I read your question right.

Default Another Seat Question

I have a question regarding seats. I have a 90 ZR1 with sport seats. The driver seat is wearing out but the passenger seat is pratically like new. I was looking them over, and they look identical. Can I just switch the seats, driver for passenger, passenger for driver? Has anybody else tried this? Thanks in advance for any help.

They are the same seat, only difference is the side with seat functions. I dont think the levers are on the actual seat itself though just on the bottom part, so you'll probably be fine making the switch. Just check them first.

Like forever21 said, they are the same seat. I just did that swap in my 92 with std seats, and it is a drop-in bolt-up. Takes 30 mins or less. The only disadvantage is that the seat tilt lever is on the inside of the seat which is slightly more cumbersome than the original location, but just like rotating tires, you can extend the life of you interior by doing so.

On my '84 you can just change the cushions and not have to unbolt anything and have stuff on the wrong side.

I swapped the seats on my 91 by just popping out the leather inserts and just switching them but I don't have sport seats. Its very easy. Later on I took everything out to detail the interior.

Sorry to sidetrack: Hey Hogan, did you buy the office chair like that, or did you install your seat on a base? Reason I ask is I have my factory seats in storage and would love to do the same thing with one of them!

I swapped the complete driver and passenger seats in my '96. Piece o' cake and the difference in feel was remarkable. As beerman said, takes about 30 minutes.

I switched my 87 coup sport seats. If I can do it anyone can, believe me. This way they will wear more evenly. The seat bolsters on the drivers side began to show wear, and that was the reason I made the switch. I have new sport seat bottom foam (1 only) very reasonable if anyone is interested. New and never used. $60.00 + shipping.

You know the best thing about switching seats is? 1 you find a bunch of coins;I got 3$ worth. 2 you can clean the carpet to almost new. 3 You find out what the previous owner was doing in your Vette; I found a bunch of weed seeds in mine, you cant blame a guy for havin a little fun
