I posted this on tech/performance this morning, got only one response, so asking here as well.
Everything seems to be working fine, recently serviced, and no codes. BUT also not shifting into overdrive. Is there possible reason other than internal in the transmission?
I think it is the high presure Solenoid that is bad I think I spent about $75.00 for mine .Plus ,plus.Gaskets filter ans an "o" ring.
I have to get time to read thru my FSM tomorrow, but your suggestion sounds right. Trans shop is trying to sell me total rebuild and I think they are nuts. O/D seems to be always electrically controlled, I just need to find how it is done in my vette. If the electrics are working then it should be just an externally serviceable servo (solenoid). Thanks again for you input.
I don't want to hijack the thread, but this seems like the best thread to ask.
I have an 89 Auto with 44k miles and my OD doesn't want to stay engaged, or it seems that way. I have 2.59 gears and, on the highway it seems to lock up and unlock alot.
I have tried it with cruise control set at 60 and just staying at 60 without cruise and I get the same jumping back and forth.
