Has anyone installed one of these kits? sounds like what I have been looking for. I would love to not have to fumble with the keys and have to open the door each time I want to put something in the back, not to mention less wear and tear on the door locks and the resulting alarm problems down the road.
Go here and check out this RKE kit from GM. Bryan did a FABULOUS job on the procedure. Once I get caught up with the '70 I'm definately going to tackle this for my '87. Supposedly it's compatible with the VATS system too. http://batee.cc.umr.edu/corvette/Key...1000_keyle.htm
i would like keyless entry, but i hate cutting wires. corvette central sells a keyless that is plug in install. it's under $300. my experience with aftermarket alarm shops is that they usually mess up your car, then the lights won't work, or the locks go up and down over bumps etc... or you have to kick the dash panel to get it to start. i want to try the cc plug in kit, but could not find anybody who has used it personally. :(
Exactly, I have a complete Python alarm/remote start system that I removed from my Jeep. I just cant bring myself to let one of these installers have at my Vette and risk any problems or damage. I think I would :U
