LS1 in a C4
How much work would it take to put an LS1 in a C4. Lets say someone bought that C4 off craigslist without the drive train and also bought a C4, would it be a MAJOR PITA or would it all be worth it? I'm just curious. My cousin told me about a guy that wrecked his car, Trans AM I believe, and just parked it in the bushes since it totalled the front end and he didn't have full coverage or enough $$$ to fix it. Long story short, the engine and tranny were fine and he sold the whole car for $500 So it would be $2700 for the '94 plus $500 for the engine and tranny, would it need a fancy shmancy computer seperate from the TA? If not, it woulda been a '94 with an LS1 for $3200 plus labor if you did it yourself Would you have done it? I know I couldn't without massive amounts of help from friends.

Althought both the LT1 and LS1 are nominally Chevy "small blocks" the external dimensions as well as the mounting points are different. It can probably be done but will take some fabrication work to the frame.
A few years back one of the monthly Corvette mags started a project of installing an LS1 in a C3. It took a lot of work and I don't recall if the project was ever finished.

I know this is a bit off topic, but with regards to c3's, there are about 7 or 8 forum members who have done the Ls1 into c3 swap. but then again c3's were designed to accomodate bigblocks, so c4's might be a bit trickier to accomodate the slightly different Ls1.
