My opinion.... she's selling a product with minimal benefit and maximum price. Now, if they were priced at $75 it wouldn't be insulting.

For the price they're charging they could at least contour to the tire. Even if the fancy compound they use truly is that expensive, there are cheaper methods/materials to producing a thermal insulating mat with the same firmness. I'm reallllly curious what their cost is on these.

Laura just emailed this message.... I've asked her to register for this Forum.

Ray-
There is something that I read on the link/forum that I need to clarify with you (I aplogize for not clarifying this in my first response). In our website, the reason why we do state that many foreign cars need TireCradles is because most of these cars have tires with low profiles/high aspect ratios. What is not mentioned in the dialogue that you had me read is the amount of information we provide on American cars and the necessity of TireCradles for the high performance tires. Remember - it is all in the aspect ratio of the tire and the dexterity of the tire. One cannot make a decision on purchasing TireCradles on where their automobile was manufactured.

Regards,
Laura

Hey guys, Since my name was brought up I though I would throw my 2 cents in the mix here.

first off, I do not have them nor do I have any connections with the company that makes them.

I have several friends who own vintage cars (many with performance tires) that only drive their cars once or twice every couple of years who use the tire cradle things and it has reduced the flat spotting effect. I have no idea if it's the same product Laura is selling or how much they payed for them but, they have proven effective for the people I know that have them.

I just live with the flat spotting issues with my tires as do most people (plus, I know where I can get a good deal on new tires if the flat spots are too severe )

oh and comments about leaving your car on jack stands being bad for your suspension .... I don't really think that is entirely correct (PC for 'yeah right' )

My buddy has these for his C5 and he has never had a flat spot. alot of you thinking they are made of plastic, they are more like a foam/rubber that wont flatten out completely when you drive on them. They are def. not plastic tho! im thinking about buying some for myself.

Default A Message from the TireCradle Manufacturer/ Inventor

Fellow Auto Enthusiasts-
To assure everyone, we are not a scam. Our product is expensive because it is expensive to manufacture. The patented polymer is developed in Germany, then shipped here to the US and manufactured in Virginia. The only way that it could be made cheaper is if: we had them manufactured overseas (which I REFUSE to do) or if we made our product with cheaper molds which would affect the durability/quality of the TireCradles. LET ME REMIND YOU THAT OUR TIRECRADLES HAVE A LIFETIME GUARANTEE. If our product did not work, we would not have been granted our patent. Also, the independant testing has not been "made up", we had to provide such testing results in order to be given exclusive patent rights. Anyone who questions this may contact
the Independant Test Lab- this information is on our website.

The wider the tire, and the more low profile the tire, will most likely lead to flatspotting. Most high quality performance tires are made of a softer rubber that functions best hot and at high speeds. When these tires are parked on cool garage floors for extended periods of time, flatspotting will occur- both temporary and possibly permanent. How do you know if you are experiencing flatspotting?- sometimes it is obvious that your tires feel almost bumpy as soon as the car is driven out of the garage until it warms up. Sometimes, flatspotting is not as obvious but will be noticed when driving over 65 mph and then vibration will be felt. Our product was invented out of frustration in replacing tires. We tried parking on the grass, jacking up our car (this was a real pain), parking on carpet pads (this did nothing), and parking on styrofoam pads (this is a short term solution and does not prevent small flatspots from occurring). Think of our product as a "tempurpedic" mattress for tires- the TireCradles provide the perfect amount of support and the perfect amount of give in order to truly round out the tires.
For those of you who are still skeptical, the truth is in our success. TireCradles are the ONLY PRODUCT that we sell. Our business has grown vastly over the years with 90% of new business coming from customer referrals. We have had 1 customer return in eight years of business. We are endorsed by CORVETTE MAGAZINE.
For those of you who are still skeptical about our pricing, I ask- how much does it cost for you to replace two tires on your car? You will not have to replace the TireCradles. If there are anymore comments/concerns, please email us via our website at WWW.TIRECRADLE.COM. We will be glad to answer any questions.
If you are not experiencing any flatspotting on your tires, then this product is not for you.
Protect your investment and truly enjoy the maximum performance of your Corvette!

This is my solution for long term (winter) storage. Go to Home-Depot etc & buy a 2'x8' panel of high density styrofoam house insulation. Cut it into 4 2'x1' pieces. For about 10 bucks you get enough to do 2 cars & you can get at least seasons out of them. They take the curve of the tire instead of the tire being flattened against the floor.
Simple & cheap.
