I think i know the answere to this already but I'm going to ask anyway...
Can I use the same sized tire on 8.5" rims as on 9.5"? (I'm guessing NO)
I'm looking at some of the rims on ebay but nobody seems to offer 9.5 and 8.5 together to match the stock size and the size of my brand new Kuhmo's. I dont really want to buy new tires or spend $1000 for rims if I dont need to.

I had 8.5s with 255s on the front of my 96. I bought 9.5" Z06 replica wheels and put the 255s on the front until they wore out. They worked. It is really easy to rash the lip of the wheels though, so be careful. When they were worn out, I replaced them with 275s.
Well you didn't give specifics as to tire sizes, but here it goes. On the 8.5" you can use the 255/45/17 on the 9.5" you can use 255/45/17, 275/40/17 or 285/40/17 tires.

The 285s will also work with a 10" rim (10" usually for 300mm and wider tires)
Thanks for the help!!! I kinda lost track of this post. Maybe had a few brewskis when I submitted it and just found it again.
I'm sticking with the stock 255/40/17 size. Just didnt know if they would fit on the wider wheel in the front. Is the extra inch that noticable on the fron or only when I smack the curb and people turn to look?
