so last night i took my vette out for the first time this winter and drove it around a little while, then i changed the oil and drove it some more. while i was driving it i had about 20 miles to go and when i would push on the gas the car would start to vibrate as if the engine was chugging, or choking a little. when i stored it this winter i took the battery out and i have read on this forum that taking the battery out erases the computer codes and the car has to be driven to get the lean/rich mixture correct again. i was wondering if this might have been the case and maybe fouled up some plugs in the process and that's why the engine is running rough. does this sound sane? or even likely?why else would the engine chug when i step on the gas? are plugs a good guess?
[QUOTE=Red Dragon 79]i just put some techron in, when i punch it, the car chugs still, i didn't know if i should keep pushing the gas down? is the gas the problem?
See lot of posts this time of year, cars stored all winter and come back to life with problems. Storage can cause condensation in tank, meaning water in gas and gas degradation. Sometimes Dry Gas and/or Techron will clear it up. If you are getting no codes I would lean towards 'old gas', plus I like to tackle the simplest thing first. Hopefully that is all you need to do, but you have to run it enough to get the old gas out of the lines, or syphon it out of the tank and refill.
