Default Paging Elaine

I remember the magazine article about your interior change. Howza bout giving the rest of the folks a look see.
In case you guys and gals didn't know, she changed the entire interior on her Grand Sport to red. Seems like it already had the red seats but she changed the carpet and other interior trim to total red.
Now how's that for giving you the chance to show off?

Hi Ron,

Actually, my Grand Sport had an all-black interior, which, at 10,000 miles, was absolutely perfect. However, my husband's '02 Electron Blue convertible came with a Torch Red interior, and I just loved it. Then, the Grand Sport Registry members were offered a deal from Al Knoch...exact replacement Grand Sport seats in either black or red...and at a price many of us couldn't resist!!

So...after much thought, I decided to order a set of seats in red, and, as long as I was doing that, I ordered Torch Red carpeting, too. Had them installed at the same time, and the car was transformed!!!

I had been thinking of doing this for more than a year but had major concerns that I would be de-valuing the GS. However, it was a move that I really wanted to do and have kept all the original equipment so if the car is ever sold...and God knows, it never will be ... the car can be put back to original condition. I had already changed the black GS wheels to chrome GS wheels, painted the calipers and added drilled/slotted rotors. Again, I have kept all of the original equipment!

One thing I haven't done yet, though, is change the door panels to red/black...maybe next year!

Here are a few pictures taken of the GS last summer plus one of both of our Blue Beauties in the garage!!

Elaine

As sharp as that looks, I wouldn't go so far as to call red seats and carpet an "all-red" interior.

I know, I know....I'm picking nits. But, you had me expecting something else...

Thanks for the pics. I have a red '94 with all black interior. I would have liked a red with red and have wondered what the contrast would look like with by changing out the seats and carpet. Now I know and I like it.

I clarified that in my post. It isn't all red, but neither are the "real" Grand Sports with red interiors! They came with red seats, black carpets, red/black doors. I have a little way to go yet!

I'm posting a picture of my husband's '02 Electron Blue on the day we picked it up. It came from the factory with Torch Red interior which included red/black door panels, but as you can see, no red dash. I could be wrong, but I don't think any Corvette had a red dash.

Sorry, going by memory here. Too much "Thai Gold" during my Vietnam tour.

Elaine you may be right about C4's and I know we are talking C4's, but my '64 coupe had a red dash.

Well, I was pretty sure that C4's didn't have red dashes but couldn't vouch for any other generation Corvette. Thanks for the info and update!
