Door hinge spring

I need to replace the spring on my 90driver's side door.Do I have to unbolt the hinge or is there a way to slide it in that I can't figure out?

I took the spring out of mine to work on the door adjustment. Mine is an 88 but GM has used the same door spring mechanism since day 1. I just use a pry bar and lifted the short "L" hook out of the top slot and it released. Installation is the reverse. Put the long end in the slots and pry the top L hook into it's slot.
Sorry if it sounds confusing but it is quite simple.
