Where would I get 86-90 vette rear third brake light bulbs, besides from GM. Has anybody seen them somewhere else and how much, and also how much from GM?

The dealer has them at about $12.87 U.S. each. and you need four of them. They will be more then regular bulbs in general because they are hallegens. I spent about 9. ea. from a regular auto parts. I would change all of them while you have it apart, usually if one goes the rest will probably be on their way. Be carefull on removal and install, as they have just 2 straight wires going into the connecter, very easy to bend etc.
It is just general 20w halogen bulb. You can use same 12v bulbs what many halogen lights have. Any electric shop will have them. I think i paid ~50cents each.
There also is different power specification bulbs. You can choose 15w, 20w, 25w etc. But don't take too powerful ones, they can melt your light...

Are you saying that you need NOT replace with $$$$Halogen bulb but can use a standard bulb (peanut style) in same Watt and size? Do you know what the bulb # would be in a standard bulb?. I do believe that a standard bulb would throw enough lite to make it sufficiently bright...especially with 4 of them. Halogen or regular, I would just be happy with all the lites working..despite halogen or not and save the $$ for something more important than an "overpriced" lite. Let me know if you have the # for the bulb..thanks...90Vettfan
