Default Need Seat Advice

I have a 96 vert with standard seats. The drivers seat is in very good condition and the passenger seat looks brand new. I was thinking (first mistake) that I could change the dirvers seat with the passenger seat as I believe they are interchangable. Any advice or has anyone done this, if so results!!!! Thanks

Guys do it all the time. Go for it. I don't know about yours, but the early seats cushions are only held in place by metal clips. No tools required.

Just did this on my 85 (not sport seats) and they are 100% interchangeable. I just switched the pads as my driver seat is power and the passenger is not. The bottom is a snap without removing the seat assembly, but I think the back is easier by pulling the seats out of the car. Gives you a good chance to do a nice cleanup of the carpet, too. My guess would be that with sport seats the lumbar controls it would work too but take a little bit of getting used to with the switches being in opposite positions

A while back someone here posted a short video clips showing the removal of the seat cushions. I can't find it though.

HOLD ON............94 to 96 seats are different than prior years. Up to 94 you can unclip the tops and bottoms and swap side to side....very good to do. The later years the backs DO NOT unclip, they are part of the seat back.Must unbolt the back seat frame, remove the recliner cable etc...and THEN I am not sure the bolts patterns are the same on left and right...check on that before you start your project and post your results please!

Yes you are correct sir. I just completed the task and only changed the bottom cussion as that was very easy. The next time I pull the seats out for carpet cleaning I will change the backs.

How do you just swap out the seat bottom cushion for a 95? How does it come out, driver vs passenger etc?
