shifter console

my consolei is falling apart near my shifter. my boot is coming loose from the plate as well and the plate itself is cracked. where is the best place to buy another set and about how much money am i looking at?

Your typical vet parts places have them. Cost is the usual 10.00 plus 100.00 corvette tax.

Check on ebay. I recently got one new for an auto for $93 dollars. The corvette catalogs charge twice that!

I bought a used one from someone on this forum for $90 or you can go with zip products about $140 look in the C4 parts section I know someone is parting out a 96...

Just did mine and the cost was $100.00 from The Last Detail. When you remove the center plate keep the shifter boot little metal caps that hold the shifter boot screws. That was my only disappointment - removing the little metal caps and reattaching. It appears that they use these so the screws do not have to touch the console plastic. It was a PITA to remove the screw caps. GM must have glued them on and then crimped them. You will see when you remove. Just don't lose any of them.

Im sorry i replied to your PM before i read this post. Thank you very much for the offer but mine is a manual and i dont think it has the slit cut in it for the gear display like yours does. thanks again

I bought mine at TLD but.....

There are 2 kinds. One is aftermarket for $100, the one I tried. The Dulco finish scratches if you look at it sideways. The ash tray hinge is semi broken.

The 'good one' from GM was $170. My old one looks better after 10 years. Get the good one.
