A moments silence, please....
....in memory of "Marilyn", my beautiful black L98 with lipstick red interior, lost yesterday in a fire at the tire dealership. She was up on a hoist having minor adjustment to the rear alignment when fire broke out. We tried to roll her out but thick smoke quickly engulfed the building and a blackened shell is all that remains.
We both enjoyed Marilyns special capabilities to the fullest. Packed with tent and sleeping bags we comfortably toured the East Coast and the Gaspe several times, following the lobster season along the coast, and we have just returned from a fabulous trip to the West Coast which included three weeks among the Rocky Mountains and wineries of British Columbia. She will also be fondly remembered for taking a lovely polish and turning heads whereever we went.
RIP

I am so sorry.
Hopefully you can find a good end-of-season deal on a replacement. Don't stay out of the saddle for very long!

Yikes! I'm with Mojo, what is up with C4's and fires. I'm going out of town for a week and I'm scared to leave mine in the garage.
Start shopping for a new one.

You'll always have the memories, and maybe you'll get another Vette and give it the same treatment. When it grows up you can tell it stories about your other Vette.
