I know what you mean. I find that most tailgaters are women!! There was a woman in an Accord behind me one day, super close, 35mph. :mad I tapped the brakes as i watched the rear view. She slammed her brakes and the car wanted to swerve and her wheels were squeeling! Now thats following to close A-hole!!!!
What I hate are the highway "buddies" who like to tuck in behind (1-2 car lenghths) on the interstate and play convoy. Good way to ruin a nice relaxing drive.
No joke, and it always seems to be the cheap little cars or minivans in heavy traffic where there is nowhere to go anyway. Don't tell my wife, cause I don't like her to drive aggressive ... but I've tapped my brakes a few times much to the surprise of the tailgater, and their cup of coffee. :D
Usually I get tailgated/cut off by rustang drivers, yesterday it was a Dodge Avenger. Almost took my front bumper off, guess he had 'somethin to prove' I also got rear ended eariler this week, not cuz he was tailgating, but just not paying attention I guess :mad :(
fact is, if you are being tailgated, then you are goin to slow. switch lanes and get out of the way. i know that there is a speed limit but unless you are in the far right lane, then you should be passing or getting out of the way, especially in a vett..... :smash:
oh, i had my signature before this thread started, but if the shoe fits.....i have notice that most of my fellow vetts run slower than they should in the left lane. everyone knows that our cars will haul a**, so it upsets them even more to be caught behind one, and they shouldnt be......i will start a new thread on passing etiquet to vent my own frustrations
This morning I was already traveling 5-7 over the limit. Do you think that is too slow? If so, then maybe you are going too fast. Slow down and drive with some sense.

it's called keepin up withthe flow of traffic, if someone is goin faster than you then move over and let them by, dont be a ***** about it. it's nothing personal, they just have some place to be. if you are already in the slow lane, then you are ok. if not then you are in the wrong :D

I'm not trying to start anything here, but vettemojo asked what lane you were in. If it was a multi-lane road, and you are in the left lane, it is the LAW to allow others to pass. It doesn't matter if they are speeding or not. In most states, the left lane is for passing only. There was a big write-up about this in a local paper. Police can, and do, pull people over for impeding traffic. It's only common courtesy to move over.
I assume this wasn't the case in your situation, but just wanted to add to what was already stated.

For the record, I was referring to a open highway when I'm in the right lane.
