Default Good intentions...

I've had my Corsa exhaust sitting in it's boxes for almost a month now. We finally had some sunshine this weekend, one thing leads to another, and I make big plans to work on the vette. So, saturday I get under it and spray all the exhaust fasteners with liquid wrench. Early sunday, I'm back out there, got the car back up in the air as much as I can...

(wasn't easy driving up 4 ramps at the same time. ) and get everything unwrapped and ready to go.....

and starting with the driver's side converter bolts, realize that I need to change my plans.

I envy anyone that has been able to remove those 3 bolts, 'cuz that really would have made my day. Everything on the bottom of that car is clean, with the exception of those bolts. I did manage to move 1, just before it snapped off.

So, back to the original plan. Into the shop as soon as the ice and snow clears from my road. And hopefully, they'll be able to extract the remnants, and forego replacing the converter. I was hoping to finally hear it for myself, but I'm destined to visit the Corsa website and replay the sound bites for a couple more weeks.

How much did that set up cost you?

I just noticed something else - shouldn't you have the targa in BEFORE you get that puppy off the ground - I am assuming there was some jacking going on since it doesn't appear that you could have got those ramps in front of the rear wheels to drive up on ?

Trying PB blaster on the rust usually gives a better result. If the one that is snapped, is it not welded on the flange side you could still probably get it done yourself. A shop will probably just torch those the bolts off.

The exhaust, MAM $999. The ramps, $49 for the low profiles, had the others for 20+ years. And yes, there was some jacking going on-2 people, 2 floor jacks, and up very slowly. Not the best method, but the top is at the body shop yet.
