Does anyone make a conversion harness to convert a 84 TBI over to the TPI system. I know why would ya want to do that. Or could ya just grab the ECM and wiring harness off of an 85 or later and hook it up? Also would the dash wiring from the 84 plug right into the 85s ECM and work properly? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP GUY'S i'm a little more schooled in the TPI system guess that's why I wanted to change it over. Pipe

I wouldn't convert to an 85 system, unless it was just less wiring.
I bought a 90 TPI MAP harness from Chevy_tpi on ebay. It's intended for wiring TPIs to carbed cars. He will also package in a ecm and custom chip to delete VATS, and various other things.
Youre somewhere in between. If you're lucky you may be able to adapt to the incar harness on the 84 and just change ecm and ecm connectors inside the car.
I have a full diagram for the 89 & 90 somewhere, but have never seen one online for the 84
pianless performance makes a wiring harness for your car called the perfect management system for your application and so does Howell. I also have an 84 and I bought the howell wiring harness from a guy on this forum with a 90 computer.
I haven't installed it yet because I'm saving for a 383.
switching to tpi. Look out for those crossfire thugs on here they will convince you to not to switch or sell your car.
They do sell the harness for the conversion. When I researched it pcmforless I think had a pretty good one. And I think it was a pretty good price too. Maybe like $400 or so, there was also some other adapter piece to get but can't remember just go to there site.
Couldn't find anything on the harness at pcmforless. Anyone know Howell's web site. I gotta check painless out. Anymore info would be helpful. THANKS AGAIN GUYS Pipe
