What a big difference in power and being able to deploy it to the wheels. Last year, my ruby had a toasted clutch and was never able to do a burnout or even take off in 1st gear. Well, after replacing the clutch, working on the engine, new cam, headers and exahust, the car is like a rocket. I just finished lowering the car to the height I like and took it around the block. It still needs an alignment but it was nice to drop the clutch and have the cargo sideways for about 50 feet. Didn't want to push it any further. I still have to "break it in"
I think it was wise to stick with the stock clutch, provided the dual mass flywheel was salvagable. It is supposedly good upto 400hp.
I have read all kinds of nightmare stories of thiose who switched to single mass and aftermarket. Seemed to me at the time I was making clutch choices about 5 years ago, 30 - 40% of those who converted needed to tear down a second time.
I stayed stock and couldn't be happier. I run a hotcam, cold air intake, and corsa catback. Pretty close to your setup. I don't race it though, or I would of went with a stronger clutch.
Glad your having fun, keep it on the pavement
