Remove hush panel above drivers feet and find the 2 white wires that emerge from the top of the steering column and go to a 2 pin connector. These are the wires that come from the contacts in the ignition tumbler that make connection to the pellet contacts on the ignition key.

All you have to do is remove the hush panel, look for two wires that come out between the lower part of the dash and the steering wheel column and go to a two pin connector! I don't know what color they are on an 88 vette (they are white on my 87), but identification is easiest from where they emerge and what they go to.

Yup, my '90 had 2 bright white wires comin right out of the column. I think the 2-pin connector has bown wires or something on the other side. Did you already buy the plug? If not, all it is is a resistance reading. I fooled mine with 4 resistors from Radio Shack and a solder jobby.
