85 just keeps running better and better everyday!
Well last week the check engine light came on and went out when I started the car trying to get the code. I changed the oil on last Friday. This week the car seems to run better everyday I drive it. Last year I only drove the car once or twice a week. Two weeks ago I started to drive it everyday. The car is running great! Now when is the shoe going to drop?

If you drive a car everyday, it will run better than if you let it sit for a while. Since i've had my '85 it has also ran better with an oil change, new spark plugs, and exhaust. If yours has a lot of miles, try running some seafoam or similar cleaner through it. This cleans out the inside of the engine and makes it run even smoother. GM makes a cleaner too.

Same here with an 85.
Mine was under a tree for who knows how long?
Been driving it the same way - every day for the last week - and it has the same results as my "leg circlers" in my PT regiment - getting better everyday.
Enjoy the ride!

my 87 cost me a fortune when it was a garage queen. It seemed liked I was replacing sensors all the time. Then I started to drive the wheels off and it seemed to love it. Now I drive-drive-drive......

I agree - as daily drivers they run awesome. I was putting 4k miles a week on my 87 and it ran like a top. Sitting is the absolute worst thing for any car. That is wonderful that even at 20+ years old it's still going strong.

Drifting
I'm sure I'm about to jinx myself, but at that risk, I'll say that my 85 drives great even after sitting for months - like after winter storage. I drive it around the block once a month and start it frequently, but it still drives/runs like a champ. Puts that big ole on my face everytime.

I agree- I have had other cars in storage when I lived in Minnesota - just starting them and letting them warm up to operating temps worked.
When I didnt do that - its like they ran out of air and died on me - like a living being.
I made it a rule to start any of my cars at least every week. Some Cold weather states storage situations make that difficult...but if its in your garage - I would remove the wall and park it in the living room, run exhaust tubes out the window and watch Family Guy in the comfort of your car...or if it doesnt fit in the living room - at least run it in the garage when it is above zero degrees (open the garage door). Winters will go by faster with your occasional visit to the drivers seat.
Driving it is better, make time for your Corvette friend...he/she will love you.

Mine seems to get better every day too. The new cat made a huge difference, and it's running very easy now,and much more responsive. Love that CROSSFIRE,mid range torque is like the old DODGE RAMCHARGERS. Hard to believe it's only 205 HP! My next idea is to do the tranny tune up,change converter fluid too!
