Default PKE retro?

I have been reading about the PKE, and looking at aftermarket alarm systems, but prefer, even if it isn't original. Anybody tried this? Does it require all the hardware plus wiring harness? It seems a lot of people have posted they disabled theirs, or don't use it, is if feasible to get one off a car someone wants to sell and reinstall in my 92?

I would not try. The PKE Module connects into the main computer. The car has antenna's built into the doors and the rear hatch area. All power door lock wiring connects into the PKE Module also.

It is easier and cheaper to buy a good aftermarket one and install it.

OK, after this piece of info I wouldn't even think about trying "The PKE Module connects into the main computer. The car has antenna's built into the doors and the rear hatch area. All power door lock wiring connects into the PKE Module also."

Thanks for the info!
