Good story...was going to look at a triple black convtbl 94 at 6pm tonight...around 2 pm i have to run home (from the job site) to grab a piece of ply-wood. Two seconds from the house, WTF...looks like a vette at the end of a driveway past the intersection. Go investigate...89 black conv, black top with gray interior. the guy has live two seconds from me for 13 years and not once have i seen this car. He just put it out forsale. It was like a sign...the 94 had 90,000 miles on it, this 89 is a one owner in mint condition with 33,000 mile. Both asking the same price. 12000...i left a deposit but what do you think? Its above Kellys value but i feel its a no-brainer over the 94.
I say test drive them both. They will each have a different feel. LT1 or L98 as far as power. I have a 86 and a 95 and they both drive different. From my perspective the 95 seems more solid of a ride (less rattle), but the 86 rides smoother on the bumps. The 89 is a good price for the low miles that it has, while the 94 is about average priced or maybe a little high. I bought a 91 in '97 with 107,000 for $10,500. Six years old.
I've owned both an 89 and 2 1994s
There's ALOT of improvements between those two years.
I would take them both for a ride and see which I like better.
The '89 does have really low miles, but you might not like the ride.
