strange noise
I was hesitant to post this thread because it will sound dumb but I figure I have nothing to lose. There is a very strange noise when ever I'm driving my vette, some times it sounds as if its coming form the passenger side from under the dash other times it sounds as if its coming form behind the driver seat. the noise gets louder every time I make a turn and it sounds like a hissing sound and some times it sounds almost like some water is boiling in a pot. when the engine is running with the car stopped the noise is not present. it is very strange and I don't know what to make of it. any ideas as to what this could be. I wish someone with an 86 Vette like mine could take a drive on mine and let me know what my car feels like as far as the drive. I have never been on a different corvette from the same year as mine so I have nothing to conpare it to.sorry for the long rant.

I wouldn't think brakes would make a sound when you turn. Unless there is a small rock in there and it would make a squeling sound. I had a wheel bearing go out on a different car one time and it sounded like a screeching noise while going strait or even louder when turning. These are just guesses!

Im telling you guys, the noise is very strange and its hard to tell where it is coming from. I know my LF wheel bearing needs to be replaced soon but I don't think that this is whats making that sound. I even took a friend of mine for a ride and he couln't tell where the noise is coming from either. I don't want to take it to a shop and have them tell me or guess what the problem is, I don't really trust shops. any more ideas please keep them coming, I will not be happy until I find what is causing that noise. Thanks guys.
