Anyone have any ideas on how to make this stay in place? It keeps comming off when I close the door. I can snap the top of the panel over the L bracket close to the window but when I close the door it comes back off. I'm getting close to drilling a hole in the panel and fastening it to the fiberglass door itself. Post any fixes here it looks like others have the same problem.

Have you tried a search in the Tech potion of the forum. I thouhgt I saw something a while back about fabricating an "L" brace for the top of the door to slip over. I assume that's what you are referring to.
If you don't find anything, let me know, I think I have an article from Vette magazine somewhere???????
I am about to drill a hole in mine too! Why? I have the same problem you do. I tried the L braces but they didn't work for me...only tore my panel up more. I tried to fix the ribs on the back with epoxy and metal braces...NOTTA. Some dude wants to sell me two black panels from a 96 for $270 shipped to me. I have been thinking about it. I just don't think I want to spend the money right now.
I adhere mine with a bead of silicone RTV that I run on the top of the door. It breaks off easy when you need to remove the panel. The only downside is the the cure time whenever you have to remove the panel - mine's not a daily driver, so it's not an issue for me.
Same problem here too, same make and year, mine is only moving very slightly though. I am going to fix mine tonight I will let you know if it works and how I did it after I try
I'm going with the silicone idea tonight I'm thinking an entire calking gun tube full might do the job. That's about how frustrated I am right now. I too have the cheesy L brackets and they suck!
Apparently there was a bunch of black goo like stuff that I was able to lift up and it's adheared itself to the door panel. It is holding so far I also trimmed some of the weatherstripping away from the panel so it's not pushing the panel away from the window. I'll see how this works for now.
