Default Help

I'm the original owner of a 1989 Corvette with a 6 speed transmission.
It has 35k miles. Up to this point it has had some of the same problems I have read about in this forum. Dec 3 2005 that all changed. It all started with extremely rough running and backfiring thru the intake manifold when the car was cold. After it warmed up to 155 it smoothed out and ran perfect. Then at an intersection at idle it sounded as if the engine had lost all lubricant and it came to an abrut stop. It would crank but not start. 30 min later it started right up. and ran perfect.I drove it to a local mechanic. and after a compression check he torn the engine apart and reworked the entire top end.. Once reassembled he took another compression check again found it to be low in some cylinders and tore it apart again to replace the timing chain. He still hasnt' gotten it right...He has replaced the master computer and various sensors. along with the fuel filter I guess you call this throwing parts at it...Throw me some answers please so I can hopefully get this solved.
thanks in advance

Comes to an abrubt halt when hot, then starts 30 min later....
1) Check your fuel pressure (suspect fuel pump)-Get back to us with #'s
2) Ignition module inside distributor does the same thing when hot.
3)Get that car out of that shop!!!
