Now I know I'm not in the audio section, but I find there's more help here for C4's for audio tips. Here is what I did with my rear C4 speaker grills since they would not clear my 3-way Kenwood (6x9). I cut out the center of the speaker grill that protects the speaker and re-covered the whole thing to make it look smooth. And I made an adapter for my 4" 2-way speaker for up front and re-covered that also (not true, my wife to be did the coverings). Hope this helps anyone who was wondering what to do with the grills.
Where did you get the speaker fabric covers? My 87 vert has some speaker covers in the rear with a nickel size hole in the middle of one of them. It doesn't have any fabric on them and I wouldnt mind recovering it since they cannot be bought new anymore.

My girlfriend recovered it with some of her material she had in her sewing room. It's a black fabric (stretch knit) that you can pic up at your local fabric store. I was skeptical at first until she covered one up and it look fine. Not like I could find any speaker cloth around town anyway. Looks and works great.
From someone who use to build custom speaker boxes and crap like that, that looks really nice. And if anyone needs a nylon material that is in Mass for their speakers I can get some really cheap and some different colors too. Just message me

Wal marts has a lot of stuff. I bought the streatch-ie one,so it dosen't wrinkle with the humidity. Also I used a hot glue gun, from them, and let me tell you those things work, will not pull loose.
This is a great mod, especialy if you have the Bose System. Those grills are covered with carpet which is pretty bad for sound. I used hot glue, sticks instantly. The hard part was getting the old covers off (Bose) Lot of scraping.
