Well, I have to disagree. I went with a top-of-the-line Alpine CD-MP3 player, and opted for the adaptors and kept the Bose speakers and it just isn't right. If I 'fade' it to the rear speakers, it's allright, but I believe that you would be much happier to rip the whole system out and put in some quality speakers. The Bose head unit is made to go with the Bose amp/speakers and aftermarket stereos are not.

You must not have it set up right cause I went with a mid-line Alpine and it actually has more bass than the factory Bose. The Alpine allows you to change the frequency of the bass and treble. Great feature
I can change my display color to amber, run my XM on the aux side of the unit or use the built in XM or Sirius, and I can make a 150 song CD in MP3 format I think I'm actually gonna like this unit.
That pic needs to go in the FAQ or better yet Bose tech tips
To be honest My Bose always sounded awsome, my issues are that I had it fixed several times and the damn thing keeps breaking....(error messages, won't eject CDs)
I kept my Bose speakers and amps, all I changed was the head unit (with the help of Crutchfield)
