Default remote entry on an 87

I have an 87 vette. i was wondering if anyone had ever put the remote unlock system from the later c4s onto an early c4. Are there any write-ups on how to do this.

TIA

Can't answer that part-but I put an after market alarm (Avital) on my 87, it has remote for doors and hatch, with options for windows and start. I really like it, have had it in now for 4-5 yrs. no problems, got it at Best Buy and they did a very professional job on the install-think it was around $250.

I also went with the aftermarket alarm to get the remote, works very well on my 90

I had an Avital alarm system in my car when I first bought it and its still there today. There were no remotes to come with it when I bought it. I now have to open and unlock from the drivers side just to get into the car without the alarm going off. Its a real PITA and embarassing at times. I even called up Avital and they no longer have the remotes for my car. I was so pissed that some of the shops around here won't even bother removing it because they are afraid of getting into the dash of a 20 yr old car in fear of breaking anything. Not sure what to do. Gonna shop around some more. As of now.. i have learned to live with it.

I have bought a couple of the Crimestopper products off of FLEBAY and they have been very dependable. A simple remote lock/unlock system is less than $60 and is simple to wire into your existing system. Consider the alarm and remote start systems with remote lock/unlock too. They're just over $100 plus a relay (maybe). It does take some wiring skills knowledge. A FSM is helpful. One seller even provides a wiring diagram on what wires to cut etc. I'm sure there's other opinions on this, this is just my $.02.
