Just got a 93 with the keyless entry and was wondering if it's bad or not. I walk up to the car and it unlocks automatically (without pushing buttons) and when I walk away I hear it lock and the horn beeps all without pushing the buttons. Is this normal? Or is my remote bad or something?
That's what it's supposed to do. It automatically locks the doors & sets alarm when you move away from the car and unlocks the doors & disables the alarm as you near the car - as well as turning on interior lights. I like it...I never have to worry that I forgot to lock the car. If you push & hold the "door" button on key fob you can disable the system and lock the doors manually.

I love the keyless but I noticed something tonight that I am not quite sure of. I parked the car at a store, the wife went in to drop off something. I turned of the ignition and set the key/fob on the console. About a minute or so after she left, the door locks growned and the interior lights came on. I read something in the owners manual about not being able to lock your key/fob in the car, is that what was happening?
You can't lock the keys in the ignition, you can lock them on the console. Just shake the car and it will unlock. The system is called PKE (Passive Keyless Entry) meaning it works without your input. Read the manual and it tells you how to turn it off if you want to.
As many others have posted...the PKE continues to cycle when the key fob is in range ... sort of randomly and a bit maddening. Also dangerous if you leave the keys inside...good news is with my top down i can get them ...but wondered what might happen if it was a coupe...guess you'd just have to hang around and wait for them to open
Holding the door button shuts it off...putting keys in ignition (dont turn on) and holding door button till locks cycle re-activates it.

Just shake the vehicle. The transmitter (FOB) is activated with motion. It sends out a signal I believe for 17 seconds. If the key is in the ignition and PKE is in Passive mode the moment the door's close they will automatically unlock if they were locked. Shaking the vehicle will cause movement of the transmitter and it will send a signal out unlocking the doors.
Careful on the door button key in ignition sequence. There are two operations there.
With the key out of the ignition hold the door button down for about 2 seconds on the Transmitter and you will hear the locks cycle. This places PKE in a non-passive mode. Can be verified by turning the ignition to ON the PKE lamp on the DIC will not turn on or display a selftest. Pressing the button on the transmitter again will cycle the locks and put it back into passive mode.
With the key in the ignition but not turned on and pressing the door button on the transmitter will cycle the mode to just unlocking the driver's door or unlocking both doors.
