Default Dyno!

Going to the dyno tomorrow to see what my new 52mm throttle body is putting out on my car.

Before 52mm

Cool, get some #s. The pic you posted just aint right though. HP and torque should not cross at 3900 RPM. Are you yanking our chain a bit ??

Looks like they're crossing at about 4800rpms..

Is this on a modified LT1?

Look at the scales...they don't seem to cross at all, nor should they, since engine rpm never reached the crosspoint of 5252rpm.
The question should be "why does this engine run out of breath at less than 5000rpm?" What cam is in it?
I don't think the TB will help much, but be sure to let us see today's chart.

Look for a shop that has it. You'd think there would be a lot in a big city like Cincy but theres only a few. Nothing but a bunch of ricer hang outs here though.

Default Dyno results are in

After the dyno run today I got my chart. After putting the 52mm throttle body on I gained -6 rwhp and -17 rwtq. All this work netted me +15 rwhp and -3 rwtq over the stock intake system.

I know there has to be more in this motor someplace. Just not sure if I want to change the cam or the pistons. I don't have the text printout. I forgot to get it from the shop before I left. I am going to pick it up tomorrow.

With the 52mm throttle body I ghained torque in the lower RPMs over the stock 48mm.

Air temp was only about 2 degrees different in the tests and the humidity was the same

It is a 383. They didn't run the car up for some reason. I guess when everything started dropping off they stopped. I told them to run the car out to 5500.

Wow.. Your car needs a major Tune...

You are at least 100HP down and at least 75TRQ down from what you should be at with even a MILD 383..

It has been tuned. Not on a dyno but Alvin has been doing the work for me. He says that everything looks good to him on the scans but he can't figure out where all the horsepower is going.

I think my motor is all wrong. I have dish pistons and 76cc heads so it is probably way low on compression. I need to either raise the compression or lower the cam. I only have about 12" vacuum @ idle. Intake dur is 270 and exh is 290. Lift about .469 int and .491 exh. I need to be able to pass California smog. Not sure I would do that currently. This is also a non-roller motor.

I'd get ahold of DEZ Racing in Seakonk...they do great work. I haven't talked to them in a while but here's the last number I had for them;

508 336 6588

Are you planning on going with a supercharger later on? That LOW compression is killing you. Do you know what cc the dish in the pistons are?
