Default c4 tune-up questions

Hi all,
I'm getting ready to tune up my 1993 LT1 and am looking for some tune up pointers...

Does anyone have a tear-down list or procedure for R&R'ing the plugs? They seem to be very difficult to access

Any special tools needed?

Plug brand reccomendations? Gap settings?

Anything special you like to do at tune-up time?

Thanks,
David

There is alot of tech tips on the C4 Tech/Perf. I have used a couple of them, have a Chilton's and a Haynes, but find alot of the work listed as easy, not to be.

The plugs on the passenger side aren't that bad. The front two plugs on the drivers side are easy enough if you go through the access panel in the wheel well. You have to remove the panel first and you'll need a long extension or a couple of extensions. The back two plugs on the drivers side now those are a p.i.t.a. I couldn't find an easy way to get them out. Just had to climb up on the tire and wedge my big fat hand back in there. I did the passengers side one night and the drivers side the other. It took about three hours to change the plugs. I did mine when I had to change the opti and waterpump etc. I think the gap is .50 but when you buy the plugs have them look it up for ya. Good luck.

Be sure and use anti-seize compound on the plugs. And I like the NGK TR-55 Double Platinums. Set gap at .060.

.060 for those plugs in particular? Just installed AC Delcos in my 94 and spec for those is .050. The old AC's I pulled had worn to .060 or more, but were working fine that way.
