Default 1984 Suspension Identification

I have a 1984 Vette and I went thru all the rpo numbers on the sticker under the storage door and there is no FE1 or Z51 and we have identified every number listed, how can I tell which suspension it came with ?

If it doesn't list Z-51 on the RPO list, it has base suspension.

They use different steering racks as well. There is a difference in how many turns lock to lock.....somebody will chime in with the number.

Not all of the RPO codes are used on every year. I downloaded the whole list off another website and remember a disclaimer that said not all codes were used every year. Z51 was used in 1984 however. If yours has neither of the codes you listed I suspect you have the base suspension - nothing to be ashamed of though.

Default Z51

You'll have 2 turns of the steering wheel lock to lock if it's Z51, if not then it's base. RPO Z51 was always the top suspension, though the specifics changed. The 85 has softer springs and bigger swaybars for instance. RPO Z52 offered a sportier than stock suspension without quite the punishment of the Z51.
