Default Wet Inside when Washed

Anyone know of any good quick fix to water that gets in when I wash my car. I was gonna get some good rain guards and such any other suggestions??

Comes in through the hard top around the windows not the windshield. Just 2side and hatch

The best fix I know if would be to replace all of the seals around the hatch and doors, but that is kind of expensive. I need to do the same with mine though, just not looking forward to it.

Keep it out of the rain.

Also tread very lightly when you wash it.

Mine does this only on the pass side. I just put a towel in there to catch the water and dry everything real well when im done.

Ok sounds like it may be a more general problem then I thought, good to hear but bad to see. Yeah I think the hose pressure was just too high. I spend about 45 mins drying the car so I dont think that is a problem but maybe use the towel idea as you have said.

Corvettes leak, deal with it. Do what I do, strategically placed towels inside the car. I picked up a nice set from the Martha Stewart collection at KMart to coordinate with my interior..

Hey guys I actually have a great fix for this problem that I will post in the for sale section but I have to get it copywright'd first. Takes about a week for Copyrights to go through so check back for it in about 1-2 weeks, simple but very effective idea to stop all water leaks around side windows and even hatch window. told you I am always thinking.

Default It Can Be Fixed, But...

Replace your weatherstripping for starters. It takes a lot of skill to install weatherstripping so it won't leak. Have towels in the car and try to avoid driving in the rain if your weatherstrip replacement job is not successful.

Put a light coat of ATF on all your rubber, and let it soak for a while. Go back and wipe off the residue. The ATF will swell up the rubber, and you shouldn't have any more leakage problems. I know it sounds like a shade tree mechanic's fix, but it works.

Aside from selling it, no. They all seem to leak eventually, new w.strip or not.

one of the main leak points is that big rubber block piece of whatever it is that is in the area around the side view mirror, side doore vent opening (inside of the dash)... i can't place my finger on the exact location..but its in there somewhere.. anyway.. big black rubbery piece... that is where it leaks really bad on my drivers side... thats one of the pieces you never see on any of the weatherstripping kits... its not really part of the weatherstripping i dont think...ill have to get a pic of it to show you all...

also.. for your "idea to fix it".. you need a patent, not a copyright

I know but I can copyright the idea so that noone can steal it and the government has documentation that it is mine then pursue patent if many people want it. Been through all this before with other stuff I have come up with and am in the process of creating../. Thank you though for all your responses will keep you posted. Also check out the thread ont he magazine it is starting to come together already

Mine has never leaked. One of the first things i did however was go into the door panel.. and pull the window closer to the car. SO when i shut it it makes a nice 'thunk' now and the seal is super tight.
