I recently read on the forum about a brake and vacuum problem on someones 88. I believe I am having the same problem, and just wanted to know where this part is located, and what it is called. I think it has something to do with a vacuum relay or something.
what your problem might be is the hose that leads from the plenum to the booster could be bad, or, the check valve on the booster.
or the booster itself.
check around the brake master cylinder... and I am being a smart *** here, but if you need to know where the master cylinder is, you need to get some assistance.
Does anyone have an idea on how to analyze if the check valve is working? I realize that the part is only around $10, but I can't find an outlet that sells them seperate from the master cylinder. Thanks.
Also, how does this thing detatch from the brake booster??? It seems like it is a PCV valve like plug in, but I can't seperate it. I have a nice vacuum from the manifold, but I just wanted to remove the thing to see if the check valve is working properly. Also, the check valve has two other ports that are capped off; making for a total of three suction ports. What are these used for, if anything.
