My car is a bone stock 94 LT1 6speed coupe with 79k on the clock and the only mods are cut K&N air lid and fidanza alum Flywheel with a Stage III Carolina Clutch and a Hurst shifter. with that all said I ran a best of 13.727@101.70 with a 2-2.5k launch with quite a bit of wheel hop after a nice burnout on street sumitumo tires (315 35 Zr17 normal 35psi) approx 190ish coolant temp. My best trap speed was 103.32 MPH. My question is this the car feels like it has a little more in it possibly 13.5 or lower in the stock state its in what little tricks can i do to get it there. Will DR's help me allot will lowering tire pressure help more.
the slip reads like this
RT .608
60' 2.118
330' 5.816
1/8 8.876
MPH 80.60
1000' 11.503
1/4 13.727
MPH 101.70
I weighed it today as well and it wieghted in at a slim 3,540 lbs with me and 3/4 tank of gass in it.... so the car must weigh in the 3200lbs without me and the gas.
Bingo!...drop that short time and you'll be good to go...I raced on Sumi's for 18 months and had a best of 1.89 in my A4...with the MN6 you just need seat time to get the launch down pat...btw, I used to drop the pressure down to 24 lbs. on the Sumi's and do a light burnout (no water) or "dust off"...
The Sumi's are a pretty soft street tire (160 treadwear rating if I recall) so with practice you should be able to get into the 1.90's fairly easily...
Agree with all that has been said. My best drag stats are in my sig under my '94. That is on runflats and totally stock LT1 engine, any mods are listed there as well.
