i have the normal 96 vette coupe lt1 auto with 103.000 mi. i was thinking of putthing in a shift kit to firm up the shifts. i dont do any raceing or anything like that but i do drive it hard sometimes.
i was just woundring what are the pros and cons of doing this are thanks

I put a shift kit in my '89 and thought it was great!
Really firmed up the shifts and mad them much quicker. I wasn't near as nervous about running near the redline because the shifts were always quick. Before the shift kit, the gear changes were slow enough that the engine would really wrap up during shifts. That made me a bit nervous sometimes.
I don't see any reason not to do it. Not a very expensive mod, and it has great bang for the buck.
Sorry if I am wrong, but are you the one that had so much trouble with the shift kit a year or so ago?
Anyway, I installed mine, and I love it. I installed the Trans-go shift kit and a lot of people swear by it. It can be intimidating. You have to drill a couple little holes in the valve body. Just take you time, and you won't regret it.
