I was just up at a friend of mines shop where they just installed new fuel injectors in a 1993 vette. He says that after he installed them the car is 100 times faster. They are the 30 pund ford injectors. I could be wrong with the number, but I am a little flustered right now, as Bank Of BS (America) Lost some of my money in one of their mergers.
Any way will installing the larger injectors give a car more power??? Or will it just restore what it had lost.
Thanks. I need to replace my injectors on my 85 and if this is true fact I will want to go with the better ones.
don't go there. your friend is wasting gas... and dreaming.
30lb injectors are just a sure fire way to run real fat... don't bother. If you want to do new injectors, get ford motorsport blue tops, 24lb and get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
Price & reliability are what make the ford's a better choice - I thought that was the weirdest thing on this forum when I first got on here - how are these corvette dudes using ford parts? Blasphemy! I, of course, have 24# Accels and have had no problems with them in 3-4 years, roughly 6K miles on them.
Is it possible to just change out the injectors with the 24lb and leave the stck fuel pressure regulator?
Depends what model and what it is programed for. For example if it came with 22lbs/hr injectors and you just whack in a set of 24lbs/hr injectors, theoretically it will want to run rich, the O2 sensor/s will bring it back to proper AFR and fool the dash into thinking youre getting better fuel economy than what you really are.
