carpet?
has anyone replaced the threshold carpet yet? How do you remove the front speaker grills? Got new pieces coming and want a head start on knowing how to replace them.

the front speaker grills come off with the threshold as one unit. I'm not sure whether the carpet on the threshold can be replaced or not. I don't remember seeing it for sale anywhere. Maybe somebody else knows this for sure. To remove the threshold you remove the 2 or 3 screws that you can see after you open the door, remove the small plastic trim from the door jam that overlaps the aft end of the threshold, and on the driver side I believe there is one screw that goes through the emergency brake assembly into the threshold that has to be removed. After that just lift it up and out of the car. The bottom edge of the speaker grill is attached to the car with velcro so pull it loose as you go. Also the threshold itself is kind of glued in place with some gooy/stretchy tar looking stuff so you have to pull it loose from that as you lift. All in all it is easy to remove them and doesn't take more than a few minutes to do. Good luck.
