my '87 is getting painted torch red, and was just curious what its going to look like with the older style front bumper and concave rear bumper...anybody with an early c4 painted torch red?
hahahaha, yeah my car is dark red metallic now but i wanted brighter...i think i made the right decision
car is going to the body shop monday how may coats of clear should i have them lay down?
I'm no paint expert...but do you have a choice of clear coating amounts??? If you are looking for a nice looking durable paint job discuss that with the shop......different paint qualities and clear coat as well I would say. I dabbled around automotive painting years ago with my buddies Corvairs and 55 Dodge where they had different choices...Lacquer, Enamel,Emeron. I guess it's the difference between a Maaco and a $4,000 paint job.
the more clear you add the more it will look like a show car...the typical paintjob has 3 coats, i was just thinking about having them make it a bit more glossy

Glossy is nice.
If I remember right, our C4's have two coats of primer, two coats of color and two coats of clear.
