Ruby wont chirp

my friends ruby wont chirp when he sets the door locks...the doors will lock and unlock but hes not hearing a chirp or beep. anyone know why this is happening all of a sudden? thanks.

Is he using the PKE? or is he just locking with the remote?

I have a 93. I don't think there is a chirp, the horn beeps when the PKE locks the doors.

Never heard the 'vette chirp - just a horn beep. Systems on some other cars chirp, but not the vette. Others?

Honks once for arming and twice for deactivating. Mine has been working on and off also. I'm wondering if it's something I'm doing with the buttons on the remote. I think when I set the alarm off it goes back to working again. But then I have a viper someone put in because they didnt like the factory alarm so ????

OK OK OK its a beep and its part of that pke. and horn does work

My horn works fine too, mine doesnt always blow the horn when it locks, no idea why as yet, as long as i hear the click when it locks i havent been too bothered with it yet. Find the security module behind the dash and clean the terminals on it and see if that helps.
