track time in Italy
here are some pics from the slalom and road race segments
Other than the friendly atmosphere and wonderful comraderie with Italian,German,Luxembourgish, & Swiss corvette owners...the whole thing, with an INCREDIBLE Italian meal, cost me less than 100 dollars.
Even if you dont understand italian, you can still sense their passion and enthusiasm when you visit the italian corvette site at
scuderia corvettes

battle of the black outs!
me and my swiss friend Andre Wiget, in his blacked out Z06

lining up for the road course

the Brembos along with the DRM brake bias spring kept things a bit more level ..

and if you waited this long to load the pics online, this is one of the organizers of the event, Chiara of Scuderia Corvettes. She is a beautiful Italian gal from Naples, and her 383 stroker stingray

To me, Italians just love, period. In this case, it just happens to be Corvettes ( and thank goodness for that). The Swiss person (s) must've been super wealthy. I used to know a fellow who "farmed" in Switzerland. A young guy who worked his "family farm". By any standards, he was wealthy.
Every 3 or 4 years, he'd come to the US, take flying lessons (pre-9/11), travel around the country sampling places he'd never been to, and buy a new Z28 with everything on it and take it home with him as a gift to himself!!!!!!
He told me that was as "showy" as he could get in Switzerland due to his relative wealth. He was no gentleman farmer; he worked every day in the fields. Hah!!!!!
Thanks for the pics.

I'm envious, my family came from Italy and I hope to see it someday.

I switched to the Brembo system in the front, which includes the 13 inch stillen hats and drilled rotors with the brembo calipers and porsche pads..

I have the stock but new calipers in the rear with porsche pads and slotted rotors...

This front brembo system lived on Blue Wasps GS while he was in Germany
Now if anyone can help me here..I have 20MM spacers in the front so that my repro ZR-1 8.5 rims can clear the calipers. I tried a 9.5 rim without the spacers and the right side did not fit...must be the offset..Rob, whats the offset on your front GS wheels?
as for my swiss friend...I can say this...
he is part of a group in Switzerland that includes a Lingenfelter Z06, a Mallet C5, a Callaway..and some new Z06's that hit the track often.
The biggest corvette club in Germany is in Switzerland..they once had 700 corvettes show up for a summer show and shine! and every year the Swiss Corvette club has a challenge with the Swiss VIPER club at the track in Hockenheim Germany...and I will be there this year and will post pics!

Next, those brakes look really good. I'm surprised tho that the 9.5" wheels didn't clear them and only on one side. I'll be looking for the answer on that one.As to the huge Swiss Corvette club, man, those guys must have some buckos!!! Can't wait to see those Hockenheim pics. Good luck and drive well.

.Marc is a very good good guy! He was present at the 2005 "CorvetteDay" also!
He likes going in to racetrack!

I am interested in hearing about your brakes. Wanna tell more about it?
