has anyone else gone around their c4 interior to tighten up screws? (phillips/star pattern) i wonder if that is going to eliminate some squeaks and rattles, i swear EVERY screw was loose and it took me 45 min. to tighten em all!
Yep, used to carry a philips in the 89. With KYBs the ride could get stiff and after awhile rattle the car apart. Main culprits were the rear view mirror and the pillars in front of the door. Part of the price for a firm ride.
I bought a screw kit about three years ago to replace the old dull and rusting screws. One day I'll get around to changing them. No screw tightening is going to cure my rattles but it might tone down a couple of them. I'll have to move it up on my to do list to about #78.
Yeah, my C4 has either lost a good bit of screws or half of them are loose. I too took a good 1/2 hour going around and tightening the darn things. The rearview mirror is the worst. Especially if the Targa is off. I also keep a screwdriver in the car. A lot of my "missing" screws were inside on the side panels. Most loose ones were in the back cargo area. On the rearview, I finally had to put some "Lock Tite" on it. Otherwise, the darn thing would fall off while driving!

I always seem to find screws laying on the floor and in back. Where are these coming from, are they reproducing? Are the screws screwing? Or am I just screwed?

Trick to help squeaks: put a piece of the soft side of sticky velcro on the plastic pieces that are on top of each other on the dash. no more dash squeaks.
Use blue loctite on the door panel screws and in the door handle area...
also on the halo plastic pieces.
